Haysam Mohtadi has over 30 years’ experience in the fire protection business, starting as an apprentice at Chubb Fire in the late eighties. Haysam took the opportunity to start Rhino Fire Protection only 5 years after the commencement of his apprenticeship.
Haysam took advantage of Chubb Fire Australia’s service base closure by making the decision to go out on his own. From there, Haysam started his business with five clients: Ford Australia, BHP Hastings, Puckapunyal Army Base, Mercedes Benz and Heritage Chocolates. For many years he serviced these clients firstly as a technician with Chubb, then as a sub-contractor and finally as director of Rhino Fire Protection. After these five clients Haysam added Coles, Myer and many more prestigious sites.
As the business grew, both Mohammed and Jamel joined Rhino Fire and helped grow the business to a point where it became the most successful service company in Victoria, attracting attention from The ARA Group who decided to acquire Rhino Fire Protection in 2006 as they believed Rhino Fire would lead the way for the rest of the fire businesses within the ARA group. Both Haysam, Jamel and Mohammed stayed on for 9, 4 and 5 years respectively and after deciding that their time with the ARA group had come to an end, started Specialised Fire Protection.
Haysam is also past president and current board member representing Victoria in the National Fire Industry Association. He represented the plumbing union for AS1851 Australian Standards Board Member for the FIT Fire Industry Training and is a Registered Independent Certifier.
